Leaf Season Is Upon Us

Just hiked to the top of Looking Glass mountain yesterday (just of Hwy. 276 in the Pisgah National Forest) and we're about a week away from prime leaf season. The color on the trees is starting to turn, especially above 3500 feet of so. If you plan to head up here, make sure to add Pisgah Inn to your list of places to stop. It's a restaurant perched on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, about 3 mile north of the intersection of Hwy. 276 and the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can eat dinner and look out over a huge colorful spread of the mountains. The view is great, the food is good, and the prices are right. They close down between 4pm and 5pm to set up for dinner so plan accordingly. Also, it's best to get there early or late, since it's a bit crowded this time of year. So a 3pm arrival will get you seated quicker than showing up at noon. Check out their site at http://PisgahInn.com
